Activities under the Association

A.Y. 2022 - 23

"Paramarsha - Inspiring to Achieve" - Workshop on Career Management

A three - day workshop was conducted from 28th November to 30th November 2022. The objective of the workshop was to cover the aspects of career management and focus on problems faced by students post the pandemic, so as to help them through transition.

Following alumni were invited as resource persons for this workshop :

• Adv. Priyadarshini Dandekar

Alumni Guest Lecture Series - "Krutadnyata"

With a vision to enrich our students with the exciting and much worthy experiences of our alumni throughout their journey as a law student, "Krutadnyata" - a three day alumni lecture series was organised for first year students. The said event was organised from 19th August to 22nd August 2022.

Following alumni were invited for the lecture series:

• 1. Adv. Pratik Sandbhor (B.Com, CA, CS, LL.B), who delivered a lecture on the topic of law and practice of Income Tax
• Adv. Pooja Kannurkar (Research Associate at the ILS Centre for Arbitration and Mediation) enlightened students on Alternate Dispute Resolution
• Adv. P. Chandni (Programme Officer in Maharashtra State Child Protection Society) talked about the lesser known careers in the field of law

A.Y. 2021 - 22

The alumni meet is conducted every year in order to reconnect with our past students and celebrate their success and various achievements. In this academic year, The College had organized Alumni meet on 25th September, 2021. More than 200 Alumni attended the alumni meet. A number of activities such as interaction with alumni through fun games, felicitation of our alumni for their achievements among others were conducted to make this meet engaging and memorable. The event proved to be thought – provoking as the members also shared their views, ideas, and insights.

Alumni Involvement in College Activities:

Invited as Judges in various competitions:

• Adv. Kaustubh Moghe was invited as a judge of Intra Moot Competition.
• Adv. Khushboo Oswal, Adv. Adv. Sarthak Mehta, Adv. Hitesh Sonar, Adv. Viraj Patole and Adv. Soham Panse were the judges of Lokmanya Tilak National Appellant Moot Court Competition held on 11th and 12th April 2022.
• Adv. Vaibhav Karpur and Adv. Pranav Deshmukh were invited to judge 12th Edition of National Bill Analysis Competition on the topic - ‘Personal Data Protection Bill’ held on 6th May, 2022.
• Adv. Yashwant Thorat, Adv. Vaibhav Karpur and Adv. Pranav Deshmukh were invited as judges of Panel Discussion Competition on the ‘Personal Data Protection Bill’
• Mr. Aditya Bendre was invited to give an orientation of our Legal Research Cell to our students.

Guest Lecture in College:

• The college invited Adv. Chaitanya Marne and Adv. Sarthak Mehta to expound on the mooting culture of our college. Both the legal luminaries were an imperative part of the moot court society since their college days.
• Legal Aid Cell of the College had arranged Legal Awareness Programme on Women Empowerment in association with DLSA on the 28th of October 2021. The said Program was arranged with the help of Adv. Yashpal Purohit, alumnus of our college, who is active member of DLSA.

A.Y. 2020 -21

• A session named “Lawrence of Academia” was conducted by Alumnus Adv. Bhakti Mutha on 25th may 2021.
• “Krutadnyata”- Alumni Guest Lectures Series was organised from 17th may to 21st may 2021.
• On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand 12th January 2021, college celebrated national youth day by organizing a lecture on the topic ‘The Road less travelled’ by our alumnus Adv. Pravin Nikam, recipient of national Youth Award .
• CV Writing session dated 21st November 2020 & Career Counselling session on "Know-How for facing an Interview: Basics" dated 5th December 2020 by our alumnus Adv. Madhavi Ayyapan dated.
• Session on Mooting skills was conducted by our Alumnus Adv. Shreyas Lele on 7th September 2020.

A.Y. 2017 - 18

As a social responsibility towards the society we the members of the Deccan Education Societies Shri Navamal Firodia Law College Alumini Association on 10th March organised a lecture for Senior Citizens residing at Matoshree Old Age Home, Pune on the Legal topics such as Will, Succession Act and Maintenance. The Guest speaker for the event was Senior Adv. M.P. Bendre Sir.

Adv. Rohan Mirpury was invited to judge the competition for Preliminary Round of 8th National Seminar and Bill Analysis Competition, as Judge which was held on 5th and 6th of March, 2018. Adv. Anurag Mishra & Adv. Adwait Bhonde were invited as Judge for Preliminary Rounds of 10th Lokmanya Tilak National Appellate Moot Court Competition, which was held on 9th and 10th of March, 2018. Adv. Anurag Mishra also guided the first year students on aspects of ‘law as a career’ so as to enshrine their future. Adv. Yashpal Purohit was invited for analysing the memorials of the various colleges who participated in the 10thLokmanya Tilak National Appellate Moot Court Competition, 2018 in our college. Adv. Abhishek Chitnis was invited by the college, to give orientation to the students on the moot problem for Intra College Moot Court Competition.

Alumini Committee in association with the college had organised the field visit to Pune District Court which was scheduled on 17th March, 2018 for the college students so as to give them practical experience and to guide them how exactly the real court works. Internship program was held by Alumni Association in the college for the students of our college to guide them about the various opportunities which are open in law field.

Last but not the least we are very proud to announce that in this academic year, Ms. Supriya Birajdar the Alumini of our college has cleared JMFC exam.
