MoU with C.I.D

DES's SNFLC GETS UNIQUE OPPURTUNITY FROM COMMISSIONER OF POLICE OFFICE, PUNE

SNFLC students from 2nd and 3rd LLB got an opportunity to intern with CP office, Pune.

his internship is outcome of commendable judgement analysis that our team did for CID. Our college has signed MoU with CID in 2019. Under this MoU, students were given eight cases of acquittal, ranging from crimes under the Indian Penal Code, 1860, like deterring a public servant from his duty, to cybercrimes under the Information and Technology Act, 2000, and crimes against minors under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. These cases resulted in acquittal, and students sought to understand what could have been the loopholes and improvements in the course of investigation. This round concluded with a submission of analysed judgements to Superintendent of Police Law and Research Ms. Pallavi Barge. As phase II of the project students were given 11 more cases to analyse in December 2023. This analysis was submitted to CID again. Due to a precise and concise analysis, carried out under the able guidance of Dr. Aishwarya Yadav and Asst. Prof Pooja Deo, department appreciated and recommended that similar exercise can be carried out in CP office as well.

In furtherance to this recommendation, a meeting was held with Commissioner of Police, Shri. Amitesh Kumar. He personally interacted with students and faculty to get the insight on the judgement analysis done for CID.

He further had a brief discussion with Principal Dr Sunita Adhav and faculty coordinators Dr. Aishwarya Yadav and Asst prof Pooja deo to understand their inputs in judgement analysis. Internship opportunity was offered to students, which would be rolled out in phase wise manner he explained.

s an initial task, individual student was asked to analyse a judgement and provide detail analysis of the same. Students submitted the same in stipulated time of 5 days. Further, in phase II of the internship, an order was issued assigning six students to six police stations, allowing them to gain a much closer perspective on the process of investigation.

Students started to work with the given Police Stations after meeting the Deputy Commissioner of Police in accordance with the Zones assigned.

Judgment Analysis with CID

Crime Investigation Department had signed a MoU with our college in year 2019.

Under this MoU, CID gave us an excellent opportunity to work on project of judgement analysis in the month of June 2023.

Our college successfully completed the Judgement Anaylsis under the able guidance of Dr. Sunita Adhav (officiating principal) and faculty in charge Dr. Aishwarya Yadav and Asst. Prof. Pooja Deo.

The copy of judgement analysis was submitted to Ms. Pallavi Parge (SP, CID, Law and Research) on 20th July 2023. The work is appreciated by the authority.
